DFM on the Radio!

Hello Flunkies,

At the beginning of the semester, we did an interview about DFM Records (Don’t Flunk Me) with Doug from KRCB. We discussed the different teams at the record label such as Production, Marketing, Business, and ours which is Public Relations. Doug asked about last year’s artist, Mood Jungle, and how our process goes when choosing and reaching out to new artists. 

We explained to him that we do everything in our power to spread the word to our community. Once we have garnered enough interest from various artists, we go into a process where each team picks an artist to pitch. When it comes to presenting an artist we go on various factors to properly represent them, which includes who they are, genre, social media presence, and much more!

Once all teams have pitched their artist of choice, the class as a whole votes on the final 3 to go forward with. Once the top 3 have been decided, we do a final vote on who to choose as our next artist and we’ve done this process with every artist we introduce each school year. We talked about all of this with Doug and also how our class structure works with support and collaboration with the school's Record Label Club.

All of us here at DFM Records are so proud of the work all of us have accomplished this semester and we were excited to talk about it on the radio! Stay tuned in for more to come!
