Northern California indie/bedroom pop artist Vista Francisco was formed by multi-instrumentalist and composer Nathen Gong in 2025.

Nathen’s love for music sparked at a young age, learning drums, playing in the school band by 10, then picking up guitar in high school “to meet girls” (with mixed results) and mastering bass and piano. This virtuosity is showcased in the self-produced music compositions that blend his childhood passion for indie rock with the sound of modern psychedelic bedroom pop.

Nathen’s origins span from the beaches of Ventura County to the San Francisco bay. After high school he relocated to the east coast to pursue an education at the Berklee College of Music. While appreciating the music theory that he received “in the trenches” at Berklee, Nathen developed his own musical perspective that was sometimes at odds with traditional approaches. He spent 2 years pursuing a degree in songwriting and came back to the bay to develop his home studio and explore his own musical voice.

Vista Francisco’s sound evokes the independent creative spirit of bands and artists such as Frank Ocean, Hozier, Tame Impala, Still Woozy, and Green Day, but offers an original indie/psychedelic/pop twist.

Driven to bring his bedroom productions to the world stage, Nathen formed Vista Francisco in 2025.

 

The current lineup consists of Nathen Gong (vocals & guitar), Rodrigo Alarcon (guitar), Jon Bland (bass), and Josh Buchignani (drums).
